Mrs. Catherine WAGNER, wife of Jacob WAGNER, died in this city Friday evening after a four months' illness. Her death was caused by heart trouble, her illness commencing with an attack of the grip. Catherine STEELE was born in Jefferson county, Ind., and was in her sixty-fifth year. She was married to Jacob WAGNER in 1843 and removed with her family to this county in 1866. For a number of years the family lived on a farm in Des Moines township and eleven years ago removed to this city. She was the mother of seven children, four girls and three boys. All but a son who died in infancy reside in this county. The funeral occurred Monday afternoon, Dr. Magill conducting the services and the remains being interred in the Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. WAGNER was an excellent and upright woman, considerate of the feelings of others and always ready to help a neighbor in the hour of sickness or distress. She is sincerely mourned by many friends who sympathize with the sorrowing husband and children. The family desires to thank the neighbors who were so kind to them in their affliction.
