Jacob N. WAGNER died suddenly this morning about 3:30 o'clock at his home in Libertyville after a short illness. His death was due to heart failure and was a great shock to the many friends of the family.

Mr. WAGNER had been in ill health for some time past but relatives and friends had not anticipated the sudden call of the death Angel. He was sitting in a chair at the time of his death and had apparently not suffered a great deal.

Mr. WAGNER was one of the early settlers of Libertyville and has conducted a black-smith shop there for many years. He was twice married and is survived by two children, both of whom were born to his first wife. Beside these he leaves a wife and two sisters, Miss Victoria WAGNER of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. B. F. BARR of Burlington, and one brother, Joseph WAGNER of Libertyville.

He was a native of Indiana having been born in that state November 10-1854 (sic) and residing there until about 12 years of age when he came to Libertyville and has since resided in Jefferson county.

Mr. WAGNER was a member of the Presbyterian church of Libertyville and also of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of that place.

The funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. The Odd Fellows will attend the services in a body.
