OBITUARY.

J. O. STEVER was born in Kisa, Sweden, Feb. 28, 1852. He came to America in the spring of 1875, locating in this county, where he remained about one year. He then went to Chicago, remaining there seven years, after which he returned to Iowa, settling near Fairfield, where he remained to the day of his death. He was married July 8, 1875, to Miss Emma C. STROMQUIST.

Thirteen children, three sons and ten girls: Mrs. Charles LARSON, Anna, Carrie, Frank, Ed., Della, Mabel, Etta, Nina, Hazel, Alvin, Elverna and Mildred. The wife and all these children are left.... He united with the Lutheran Episcopal Church in Sweden, and upon coming to America joined the Methodist Episcopal Church and remained a faithful and consistent member to the day of his death -- May 21, 1906. Son Frank of Idaho Falls, Idaho. His sisters -- Mrs. J. P. SHANSTROM of Fairfield, Mrs. A. P. ANDERSON of Red Oak, Mrs. G. A. RANGNER of Salina, and a brother-in-law, Gus COLLINS of Chicago.....

Note: Buried in Fell Cemetery. Wife Emma died in 1934 and is buried with him.
