Charles R. STEELE, 58, 806 W. Washington St., died Wed. at 7:50 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital.... Foreman at Dexter Company for many years. Lifelong resident of Jefferson County.

Born near Libertyville, son of Joseph Willis and Ada JAMES STEELE; married Lottie TURNBULL Dec. 26, 1917, at Mt. Pleasant; moved to Fairfield in 1923.....

Surviving are wife and five daughters: Mrs. Harold TEETER, Mrs. Ludwig GITTLER, Mrs. Ila POTTORFF and Barbara STEELE, all of Fairfield, and Mrs. Dale GILLASPIE, Farmington; his father, 7 grandchildren and the following sisters: Bertha STEELE, Mrs. Maude McWHIRTER and Mrs. Edna CARR, all of Fairfield; Hester STEELE, Des Moines; and Mrs. Mabel BRINKLEY, Bloomington, Ill.. His mother and three brothers preceded him in death.
