J. W. STEELE, 89, retired Libertyville farmer, died Sunday night at Jefferson County Hospital. Behner Funeral Home. Fell Cemetery. The farm home is located s.w. of Libertyville.

Born Aug. 23, 1868, at Libertyville, son of Joseph E. & Sarah Elizabeth MILES STEELE; married Addie JAMES Dec. 24, 1890, at Batavia. She died July 21, 1903 (sic - 1904).

Survived by children, Bertha May STEELE, Mrs. Maude McWHIRTER, and Mrs. Edna CARR all of Fairfield, Hester Fern STEELE, Des Moines, and Mrs. Mable BRINKLEY, Normal, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, 8 greatgrandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Ollie TEETER, Batavia, and Mrs. Fred CARLSON, New Virginia. Four sons, two sisters and one brother are deceased.
