Howard J. ROUTSON died Tues. night at his home here. Omar Hoskins Funeral Home. Funeral Fri. at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville.

Born Apr. 28, 1874, in Ohio, son of Harvey C. and Nancy Jane CRAWFORD ROUTSON. He came to Iowa as a small boy and lived in southeastern Iowa the rest of his life. Married Bertha McCLAIN Feb. 25, 1900, and they went to housekeeping on a farm near Libertyville. In 1915 they moved to Fairfield where he operated a garage for a number of years, later working for the Fairfield Glove and Mitten Factory. Moved to Brighton in 1944.

Survivors include wife and four children: Donald, Cedar Rapids; Delbert, Denver. Colo.; Mrs. Jack PENCE, Ottumwa, and Mrs. H. C. STOUSE of Brighton; 13 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Celebrated 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 25, 1950. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Fairfield. He was raised by his grandmother, Mrs. Elzabeth CRAWFORD, his mother having died when he was 11 days old. Others preceding him in death were his father and one daughter, Mrs. Laurine WHEELER, Red Oak, Iowa.
