Page 3, Column 6MARGARET POTTS. Margaret Jane VAUGHT, a daughter of William and Elizabeth VAUGHT, was born in Terre Haute, Ind., Nov. 17, 1843, and died Feb. 22, 1932, aged 88-3-5. When a small child she with her parents moved to near Libertyville, Iowa, where she lived her entire life with the exception of a few years near Des Moines, Iowa. She had lived more than 40 years in her home in Libertyville. In Oct., 1865, she married Nelson POTTS.
Nine children, four daughters and five sons. Husband and one daughter, Mrs. Myrta LOVELESS, preceded her in death. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alice HUNTER of Fonda, Iowa; Mrs. Sarah MOORE of Libertyville; eight children: Mrs. Laura (POTTS-SHIPLER) MARTIN of Oskaloosa; Mrs. Loeda ALLISON of Fairfield; Russell and Owen POTTS of Eldon; Frank, Charles and William POTTS of Libertyville, and Mrs. Amy MILLER of Rose Hill, who has been caring for her mother during her last years; 37 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren....
United with the Methodist Church of Libertyville in early life. Grandma POTTS, as everyone called her, was a friend to everybody and was loved by all who knew her... Interment in Fell Cemetery... Six of Mrs. POTTS' grandsons were the pall bearers. (Death record shows her mother's maiden name as Elizabeth GILTNER.)
