DEATH OF A GOOD MAN. Thomas POLLOCK, a resident of Des Moines township since 1857, died at his home Monday... Mr. POLLOCK was a native of Virginia and was in the 87th year of his age. He removed to Pittsburgh, Penn., when a young man and was married there in the late '30s to Miss Jane ALLEN, who survives. The family came to Jefferson County in 1856. The following spring Mr. POLLOCK purchased the farm in Des Moines township where he died and where the rest of his life was spent.

Six children survive: George A. POLLOCK, John T. POLLOCK, and Mrs. D. W. CARTER (Margaret Jane) in this county; Mrs. C. T. COWAN (Anna Eliza) in Washington state; Mrs. George HUFFMAN (Mary Elvina) and Mrs. Eugene FORDYCE (Rena) at Ventura, Cal.... Presbyterian Church.... The remains were interred in the Fell Cemetery at Libertyville today.

Thomas POLLOCK, who sustained a broken leg about a week ago, died at his home near Libertyville Monday. The funeral will take place from his home today and the remains will be interred in the Fell cemetery at Libertyville. Mr. POLLOCK was one of the pioneer settlers of this county and well known in this city.

Thomas POLLOCK died July 8th aged 87 years 7 months 5 days (sic - 86-7-15). Born near West Alexander, Penn., Nov. 23d, 1814; married Feb. 8, 1838. Seven children, six living....

Note: Wife Jane would die in 1902 and is buried with him.
