Death of Jonathan PARSONS

Died, at his late residence, southwest of Libertyville, April 2, 1892, J. N. PARSONS. Deceased was born in Randolph county, Virginia, Aug. 27, 1819. He came to Van Buren county, Iowa, in the fall of 1838, removed to Agency City in 1840, and in 1842 to Fort Des Moines. During this time he was employed by the government (as a blacksmith) among the Sac and Fox Indians. In 1844 he went to Kansas in the same capacity. In 1846 he came to Libertyville and was married to Caroline JEWETT, who died Sept. 10, 1846. He was married again to Sarah A. WILSON, Nov. 30, 1848. In the spring of 1849 he removed to the farm where he died. Six children were the fruit of his last marriage. Among them Alexander K. and Amanda V. of Libertyville, and Mrs. Dr. A. A. ARCHER of Conway, Iowa. He was a zealous worker in the Methodist Protestant church of which he has been a member since 1863. The funeral was held last Sunday, and the remains were buried in the Fell cemetery.
