"Fairfield Ledger", Oct. 24, 1906, Pg. 7, Col. 5

LIVED MORE THAN A CENTURY. David HOWARD, who died in Libertyville Saturday, was undoubtedly the oldest person in the county and one of the oldest in the country.

He was born in Pennsylvania July 12, 1804. Mr. HOWARD came to Iowa about 1858 and had made his home most of the time since in the community in which he died. He was twice married and reared a large family of children, many of whom are living. His second wife survives him. Members of his family have little knowledge of his history. The body was interred at Libertyville Sunday.
