DIED – On the 29 of October, 1855, in Abingdon, Jefferson County, Iowa....Mrs. Dorcas McCULLOCH, wife of Col. Thomas McCULLOCH, in the 63d year of her age. Mrs. McCULLOCH was a native of Washington County, Virginia, where she has many relatives still residing. From thence she emigrated to Iowa, with her husband and children, about eight years since. She had been for many years a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and was a pious and good woman, and no doubt has gone to the enjoyment of a happy immortality in a better world. It was a source of consolation to her, as it doubtless will be to her distant friends, to know that she was surrounded by an affectionate family, and by kind and sympathizing friends, ready at all times to administer all in their power to alleviate her sufferings.

[Ed. note: Buried in Abingdon Cemetery; her maiden name was LOGAN.]
