DIED, Dec. 11, 1879, at his home in Liberty township, John E. HOUD, in the 52d year of his age.

Born in the state of New York Dec. 17, 1827. He was raised in Chautauqua County, to which place he was taken by his parents at the age of four years. From New York he removed to the state of Michigan and resided in Atica township, Lapier County, where he married at the age of 24 years. At the age of 32 years he removed to Jefferson County, Iowa, Nov. 9, 1859....
