Henry HOFFMAN was born in York County, Penn., Jan. 31, 1835, and died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Gilbert HILL, May 13, 1918, aged 83-3-12. His boyhood and young manhood days were spent in Penn. He left there in 1855, making an overland trip to California. He lived there for nearly ten years, returning to Penn. Came to this state in 1866 and made his home near Libertyville. Married, Apr. 6, 1865, Margaret HARMON.

Children: John H. of Hutchison, Kan.; Elizabeth S. HILL, F. J. HOFFMAN, Sarah McCLEARY and Saml. K. of Libertyville, and Frank HOFFMAN of Birmingham. Children are all living, also 30 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Wife died Feb. 14, 1915. Meber IOOF Lodge. Has been an invalid for several years, being totally blind. Fell Cemetery.
