OBITUARY. Alfred Nathan HIBBARD died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. STANSBERRY, Sunday evening Feb. 14, 1915, aged 81-3-6. He was the only child of Alfred and Mary HIBBARD and was born in the State of Maine Nov. 8, 1833. When a child he came to Jefferson County with his mother, the father having died before his birth. He was married to Susannah BEACH March 25, 1852, at Fairfield, Iowa. They were the parents of six children, four of whom are living, two having died in infancy.
Those living are Mrs. T. F. STANSBERRY of Fairfield, John G. HIBBARD and Mrs. Frank CLARRIDGE of Birmingham, and A. C. HIBBARD of Sycamore, Ill.. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. The only living relative of his family is a half-sister, Mrs. Eliza JOHNSON of Blakesburg, Iowa.
He was a soldier in the Civil War, Co. F (or A?), 132d Ill. Inf.. Some time after his marriage he moved to a farm 1½ miles north of Libertyville where his family was reared and later made his home in Libertyville until May, 1914... M.E. Ch.
His wife died March 3, 1906, at the age of 70 years. In Oct., 1908, Mr. HIBBARD was united in marriage to Mrs. Emma J. MOWER who died May 28, 1914. After this he made his home with his daughter Rosella STANSBERRY.... Burial in Fell Cemetery....
Those who attended the services from a distance were Mrs. Eliza JOHNSON of Blakesburg, Jake JOHNSON and wife of Ottumwa, Roy STANSBERRY of Chariton, Charles HIBBARD of Kansas City, and A.C. HIBBARD of Sycamore, Ill..
