A Prominent Former citizen Passes Away Unexpectedly -- Funeral Here
Mrs. Harriet A. HAGUE, widow of the late Albert Gallatin HAGUE, and mother of Clarence P. and Vernon L. HAGUE, died suddenly in Albany, Ore. yesterday afternoon where for several years she has been making her home with a daughter, Mrs. F. E. CALLISTER.
The information came in a telegram from Clarence P. HAGUE to his wife. The messages aid that the funeral party probably would start tomorrow for Fairfield with the body, and would arrive here Wednesday. Funeral arrangements have not been made but interment will be in the HAGUE family lot in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. HAGUE was born in Fayette county, Pa., in 1841 and married Mr. HAGUE March 24, 1863, when Mr. H. was at home on a furlough. The family came to Jefferson county in the late sixties and to Fairfield about 20 years ago.
Mrs. HAGUE is survived by four children--James E. HAGUE of San Antonio, Texas; Clarence P. HAGUE of Fairfield, Vernon L. HAGUE of Fort Dodge, and Mrs. F. E. CALLISTER of Albany, Ore. Another son, Dr. A. S. HAGUE, died in 1923. There are two stepchildren--Mrs. John BEARTH (sic - DEARTH) of Grand Ridge, Ill., and L. W. HAGUE of Minden, Neb.
Mrs. HAGUE was frail from age but recent letters gave no hint of approaching death. Clarence P. HAGUE went to Albany three weeks ago for his annual visit to her, and was with her at her death.
