DANIEL W. GARBER DIED THIS MORNING. Son of John and Sarah GARBER, born May 11, 1844, at Burlington, Iowa, and died 8:15 a.m. Sept. 29, 1915, at his late home, 303 E. Jefferson St. His parents moved when he was but a few weeks old, to a farm near Libertyville and he had resided in and near Libertyville all his life until about a month ago when he moved to Fairfield... Death caused by cancer. He is the last child of a large family, all having preceded him in death.

Married June 24, 1866, Martha B. TIDBALL, at Libertyville, Iowa. Three children: John W., who died Oct. 11, 1904; Gus W. who lives at Marshalltown, Iowa; and Edgar F., at home.

He enlisted on March 18, 1862, at the age of 18 years in Co. F, Third Iowa Cavalry, and was mustered out Aug. 9, 1865, at Atlanta, Ga. He was interested in the grocery business for a few years, until burned out, and later was in the hotel business. He held a number of township offices and was the only Notary Public in Libertyville for a number of years and was a man consulted largely by the whole community. He was appointed postmaster at Libertyville and served the community in that capacity for ten years previous to January, 1915.

The funeral will be held at the residence at ten o'clock a.m. Friday, Rev. Hinkhouse officiating. Interment will be made in Fell Cemetery south of Libertyville.
