... --John DOLE of Akron, Colorado Charles DOLE of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Frank DOLE of Kansas City, arrived yesterday, being called by the serious illness of their mother Mrs. M. E. DOLE.

MRS. J. R. DOLE DIED THIS MORNING

Mrs. J. R. DOLE, one of the pioneer settlers of this county, died shortly after 1 o'clock this morning at home on East Stone street after only a few days illness of pneumonia. Mrs. DOLE was 81 years of age and enjoyed a large acquaintance in Fairfield and Jefferson county.

Mrs. Marie E. ARMACOST-DOLE was born in Clermont county, Ohio, on July 1st, 1832. June 17th, 1849, she was united in marriage to Joseph R. DOLE and the couple resided in Ohio until 1851, when they came to Jefferson county where where (sic) they spent the remaining years of their lives.

For twelve years Mr. and Mrs. DOLE lived on the William Alston farm about four miles west of Fairfield when they purchased and moved to a farm six miles northwest of this city(.) Here they resided in Ohio until 1851, when they to Fairfield which has since been the family home (sic). Mr. DOLE passed away July 19th, 1901(.)

Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. DOLE, all of whom are surviving. They are Charles A., of Salt Lake City, Utah; Joh nF , (sic) of Akron, Colorado; Frank W , of Kansas City, Mo ; Miss Eva DOLE and J. Wilbur DOLE both of whom reside at home. All are now in the city and were with their mother in her last hours(.)

The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the residence, 51 East Stone street and will be in charge of Dr. Thomas Osborn, pastor of the Methodist church, of which Mrs DOLE was a member. The interrment (sic) will take place in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Marie E, DOLE died at her home on North Court street yesterday morning. She was in her 81st year. Funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon at two o'clock.
