BATAVIA. Leroy W. COPELAND, 73, former resident of Jefferson Co., died Fri. at his home in Chillicothe, Mo., of heart failure. Graveside services will be held at Fell Cemetery near Libertyville Monday afternoon.

Born on a farm near Batavia in Wapello County; reared on a farm near Libertyville. After attending business college at Mount Morris, Ill., he joined the John Morrell Company at Ottumwa as a salesman. He was with the Morrell firm for 45 years until retirement a few years ago.

Survivors include widow Martha; one son, Larry, Los Angeles, one daughter Ardijoy who lives at Fort Smith, Ark.; and a brother Elmer W. COPELAND, Batavia.
