Fairfield, Ia., March 21 -Mail Carrier Dies
Many Fairfield folks were sorry to learn of the death of Clark H. King which occurred Monday afternoon at five o'clock in Chicago after several months of ill health. Mr. King was one of the best known men in Jefferson county having been a rural carrier from the city post office for a number of years, only retiring when compeled to do so by ill health. The family who had been residing in Chicago for the past three or four years were preparing to return to their home here that Mr. King's expressed wish might be granted and that he might spend his remaining days in Fairfield among old friends.
Mr. King was 70 years of age and is survived by his wife and three children, Chalmers A., Harry and Miss Helen. The remains will be brought to Fairfield and the funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at three o'clock at the First Presbyterian church. The last service will be in charge of Jefferson Lodge No. 4 I.O.O.F. of which he was a member.
