MRS. LEE GALLUP DIED YESTERDAY
Former Fairfield Woman Passed Away At Her Home In Libertyville

Mrs. Lee GALLUP passed away at her home ten miles southwest of Fairfield yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. She was formerly Miss Helen PARSONS of Fairfield and was well known here.

Mrs. GALLUP, daughter of Mrs. Nettie PARSONS of this city, was born in Butler, Mo., July 27, 1897. A few years later she came to Fairfield with her parents where she made her home until a few years ago. On Christmas day of 1918, she was married to Lee GALLUP of Libertyville, and to this union were born two children, an infant son who died a year and a half ago and an infant daughter, born yesterday morning. Besides her husband, mother and infant daughter, she leaves three sisters and ont (sic) brother. They are: Mrs. Grace RIDDLE, of Davenport, Ia., Mrs. Aurelia HYDE of Grand Junction, Colo., Wilma at home, and Perry of Fairfield. Two sisters have preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home, Rev. W. E. Buell of the Birmingham Methodist church officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

GALLUP FUNERAL HELD YESTERDAY
Services Were Held At Libertyville Yesterday Afternoon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lee GALLUP, who died at her home near Libertyville Friday afternoon, were held yesterday afternoon from the home. Rev. W. E. Buell, of the Birmingham Methodist church had charge of the services, after which beautiful selections were sung by Mrs. Samuel Watkins, Mrs. Thomas Moss, Dwight Heston and Rue Davis.

The body was brought to Fairfield and interment was in Evergreen cemetery.

Dewey Anderson, Jim Stansberry, Ray Buchanan, Carl Freeburg, M. E. Crawford and Glen Rail served as pallbearers.

The funeral of Mrs. Lee GALLUP who died Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at her home south of Libertyville was held Sunday afternoon at the home and was conducted by Rev. W. E. Buell, pastor of the Birmingham Methodist church. The remains were brought to Fairfield and interred in Evergreen cemetery. An infant daughter, born a few hours before her dearth, and her young husband have the sympathies of many friends, as does her mother, brother and sisters.

Mrs. GALLUP was the daughter of Mrs. Nettie PARSONS, who resides on South Third street in this city. She was born in Butler, Mo., July 27, 1897, and came with her parents to Fairfield when but a small child. Here she grew to womanhood and on Christmas day, 1918, she became the bride of Lee GALLUP, of near Libertyville. About 18 months ago a baby son was born to them but lived only a few hours. The coming of another babe to them had been awaited with pleasure by both young people and it was for the tiny daughter the young mother yielded up her life.

Besides the young husband and baby daughter, Mrs. GALLUP is survived by her mother, Mrs. Nettie PARSONS, one brother, Perry, both of this city and three sisters, Wilma, also of this city, Mrs. Grace RIDDLE, of Davenport, and Mrs. Aurelia HYDE of Grand Junction, Colo. Two sisters and her father have proceeded her in death.

Deaths

PARSONS, Helen Winefred--was born in Butler, Misouri (sic), July 27, 1897, and from her home in the southern part of Jefferson county, Iowa, died July 14, 1922, at the age of 24 years, 11 months and 17 days.

She was the daughter of Herbert and Nettie PARSONS, and one of a family of seven children, two of whom, Mrs. Ernest BAILEY and Mrs. Lester CHAMBERS, have, during the past two and one-half years, preceded her in death. Her father also has passed on before her.

Three years ago last Christmas day, December 25, 1918, she was united in marriage to Lee GALLUP, who, with little Helen Marian, given them the day that her life ebbed away, will miss her most sadly.

She also leaves besides her mother, her husband, and her little babe, one brother, Perry W., of Fairfield, three sisters, Mrs. S. L. HYLE (sic - HYDE), of Grand Junction, Colorado, Mrs. O. R. RIDDLE, at Davenport, Iowa, ad (sic) Wilma, still at home with her mother in Fairfield, and many friends, who will long cherish her memory while they mourn her departure from them.

Mrs. GALLUP was a member of the English Lutheran church in Fairfield. She had a sunny, hopeful, cheerful disposition that won for her many friends wherever she was known. She was an affectionate, devoted wife and companion, a tender, sympathetic friend, and a woman whose life was a benediction to all who knew her.

Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday afternoon, in charge of Rev. W. E. Buell, pastor of the M. E. church at Birmingham and Bethel, and her body laid to rest in the beautiful Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield.
