Joseph L. DRISH Dies Sunday At Brighton Home

BRIGHTON, Ia. -- Joseph L. DRISH, 91, life-time resident of Brighton and Pleasant Plain communities, died Sunday afternoon at his home in Brighton. He had been in failing health for the past several years.

Last rites will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. A. L. Bergthold officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph cemetery.

The Rosary will be recited at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Joseph L. DRISH was born Jan. 8, 1873 near Pleasant Plain, son of Mathias and Martha GUIDCE (sic - GAJDA) DRISH. He spent his entire life in Jefferson and Washington counties. He married Pakel (sic - Takel) BISKEY who preceded her husband in death on March 10, 1924. DRISH was a retired farmer and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic church.

He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Angeline VANCE, Ottumwa; Mrs. Marie BARNETT, Douds; Donald DRISH, Moline, Ill.; Frances DRISH, Minneapolis, Minn.; Clarence and Irene at home. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several half-brothers and several half-sisters.

DRISH was preceded in death by three sons and one daughter, Mrs. Nelle RYDEN who died last Wednesday at Minneapolis.
