"Fairfield Dailey Ledger" Fairfield, Iowa, Tues. Sept. 24, 1946. CENTENNIAL EDITION, Sec. F, page 2, Col. 4.

The SWITZER farm in Buchanan Township has been in the same family for 103 years, and the fifth generation is now living on the place.
David came to this county from Maryland in 1842 and settled on the farm. He was a surveyor and completed a great deal of the survey work in the county at that time. He passed away in 1876.
His son, Frank and wife, took charge of the farm and operated it for many years, after which Clarence and his wife owned the place. His son, Warren and wife, now operate the farm. They have a young son who will no doubt take over some day, making the fifth generation on the place.
