From the Prill transcriptions, Sept., 1972, by Orville and Mary Prill who read Batavia Cemetery; regarding the gravestone of Nancy A. ROBINSON which is with the A. A. HOLMES family stones ~~

Mary's note states, "Believe this was a child of Geo. W. ROBINSON and his wife Margaret GREGG. The 1856 Census of Polk Township, D75, shows they had children: Elizabeth C., 7; Ala L., 5; Martha A., 3, and Nancy A., 1. The 1860 Census of Locust Grove Twp., D553, shows they had children: Elizabeth, 11; Lucille, 9; Martha Ann, 7; William, 3; and Mary, 1."

[Transcriber's notes: I transcribed most of the 1856 census for Jefferson County, IA, and noted this family as ROBISON, not ROBINSON. See the link with this message; family found on Pg. 998. In addition, the family is indexed and enumerated in the 1860 census as ROBISON, not ROBINSON, on the first of the two pages on which they appear. The name on the second page (continuation of the family) looks more like ROBINSON, and there's also a Benjamin ROBINSON, age 38 and a Teacher, living with the family. Unsure which spelling of the surname is correct. -J. Stark]
