DISPLAY OF VEGETABLES

It almost makes you forget about the drought and hot weather of last summer to see the display of vegetables at the Carlson store. The collection is not large, but it certainly is good what there is of it.

Mrs. M.E. Corporan, who lives on the Rivey place just south of Lockridge, brought in two radishes of the icicle variety, one of them a true freak of nature, weighing 6 pounds and 1 ounce. The other one weighs 2-3/4 pounds.

Mrs. Emma Vorhies grew a beet in her garden that weighed 4 pounds and 12 ounces and she has it on display.

Oscar Peterson has two samples of vegetables that he raised last summer. One of them is a large turnip that weighs 6 pounds and 7 ounces, and one is a cattle beet weighing 4 pounds and 9 ounces.
