Sophronie Caroline ELLER (6th gen.) born 2 Apr 1852 Wilkes Co., N. C.; died 9 Mar 1943 Fairfield, Iowa; she married, 20 Aug 1876 Payton Monroe COLVARD, born 6 July 1844 in North Carolina; died 10 Sept 1893 in Clay Co., Nebr. Family lived in Clay Co., Nebr.

Sophronie Caroline ELLER was daughter of John Cleveland ELLER (5th gen.) (Simeon 4, John 3, Peter 2, George Michael 1), born Wilkes Co., N. C. 1 July 1822; died 12 Nov 1892 on his farm near Trumbull, Clay Co., Nebr.; married 18 Feb 1845 Jane Rebecca MONTGOMERY, born Wilkes Co., N. C., 1 July 1827; died 24 July 1919.... daughter of Hugh MONTGOMERY.

Came to Jefferson Countym Iowa, in 1853 with his brother William ELLER, where his brother Harvey ELLER had settled about a year earlier and where his uncle David ELLER had lived since about 1838. Move to Nebraska in 1873.
