Late Roy HIX Pictured--

Gospel Music Album

No one loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than the late Roy HIX, who died on Aug. 19. He was a photogenic grandfather but never did he dream his picture would be nationally circulated on a record album.

HIX's grandson, Steve HIX, who is employed by an advertising agency in Kansas City, photographed his grandfather with his small great-granddaughter, Lisa GEVOCK on his lap. Lisa is the daughter of Joe and Gail GEVOCK of Peoria, Ill.

Now their faces are on the cover of an album, "Blessed Be the Children" recorded by Jim Sunderworth for Temple.

Songs inclue "The Brush", "God's Not Finished With Me Yet", "Like A Child", "Blessed Be the Children", "Walking in the Sunshine of His Love, "Let My Light Shine", "The Little Boy from the Carpenter Shop", "Jesus Loves Me Medley", "First Day in Heaven" and "He's Been Wonderful to Me."

Seven of Roy HIX's great-grandchildren gathered at the Fairfield Library on Saturday when the album was presented for circulation in his memory.

They are: Kristen and Ryan BRODIE, cildren of Steve and Joyce BRODIE of Des Moines; Nicole and Joelle DROZ, children of Roger and Margo DROZ of Burlington; Steve and Susan BERG, children of Carl and Margaret BERG of Fairfield; and Sean BAKER, son of Tom and Kathy BAKER of Fairfield.

Other great-grandchildren of Mr. HIX are: Linda and Laura GEVOCK, the other children of Joe and Gail GEVOCK; and Candy and Laura Ellen DROZ, daughters of Douglas and Jeanie DROZ of Kamiah, Idaho.

Not only is the publishing of the album a big thrill for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren but is equally as meaningful for Roy HIX's five children: Kenneth HIX, Helen DROZ and Hazel HIX all of Fairfield, Clyde HIX of Clinton and Verne HIX of Tyler, Texas.
