Administrator's Notice

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the undersigned has this day been appointed and commissionod (sic) by the Circuit Court of Jefferson county, Iowa, Administrator of the Estate of Archer GREEN, deceased. All persons having claims against said estate are hereby notified to file them with the Clerk of said Court, clearly stated and duly sworn to, and within legal time, preparatory to their being allowed or proved; and persons owing said estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned, and save costs.

Note: Archer GREEN was born December 13, 1813, and died on March 6, 1876. No obituary has been found for this man, and Death Certificates were not required to be kept at the county level until July of 1880. Dates are based on entries in an ALLENDER family Bible. Archer's first wife was Juliann ALLENDER, who died in 1869. His second wife was Margaret DEY, who died in December, 1879, and with whom he is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA, in Lot Old.P.357.
