Note: From the Roster, this William Hill apparently tried to enlist in Co. E, 2nd Iowa Infantry Regiment, but was rejected May 28, 1861, by Mustering Officer. He enlisted in Co. A, 15th Iowa Infantry, Jan. 18, 1862; Age 18; Residence, Fairfield; nativity Iowa. “Died of measles March 14, 1862, Fairfield, Iowa.”
