Mr. J. S. (James S.) Matthews, of Plattsmouth, Neb., was in the city Tuesday on his way to Sigourney to join his old regiment at a reunion. (Co. G, 5th I.V.I.) Mr. M. was a resident of this county from 1849 to about 1862.

(Enlisted Aug. 11, 1862; age 21; residence Fairfield; Nativity – Maryland.)
