STERLINGs plan 50th anniversary

David and Kathleen STERLING of Batavia will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house July 7.

David STERLING and Kathleen BRADEN were married July 20, 1968, at the First United Methodist Church in Ottumwa with the Rev. Roland Crandall officiating.

Mr. STERLING retired in 2017 from the State of Iowa Department of Agriculture. Mrs. STERLING retired in 2017 after 46 years of dental assisting, mainly in the offices of Dr. Arthur Haag and Dr. Tom Rundle.

The STERLINGs have one son, Chris STERLING and wife Jill of Johnston, and one daughter, Nikole JOHNS and husband Martin of Fort Collins, Colorado. They also have six grandchildren.

The open house, hosted by their family, will be noon to 3 p.m. July 7 at the Batavia Community Center. The couple requests no gifts, but cards would be welcome. Cards can be sent to the couple at 601 Liberty St., Batavia 52533.
