Page 2BROWNs, WORKMANs celebrating 50th wedding anniversaries
Two couples - Ron and Gloria BROWN of Stockport and Richard and Karen WORKMAN of Keosauqua - will both be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversaries during an open house from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Keosauqua-Lacey State Park's Main Lodge in Keosauqua.
Ron BROWN and Gloria SHIREY were married June 16, 1968, at First Christian Church in Keokuk with Art Vail officiating.
Mr. BROWN is a self-employed body shop owner. Mrs. BROWN is employed by Nurturing Families Community Partnerships for Protecting Children.
They are the parents of two sons, Rob BROWN and wife Kim of Greenville, Tennessee, and Matt BROWN and wife Evanica of Stockport. They also have four grandchildren.
Richard WORKMAN and Karen PHILLIPS were married June 23, 1968 at Stockport Christian Church in Stockport with Chester Werft presiding.
Mr. WORKMAN is a farmer, and Mrs. WORKMAN is a teller at First Iowa State Bank.
They are the parents of two daughters, Denise RILEY and husband Doug of Fort Worth, Texas, and Richelle RUNYON and husband Todd of Keosauqua. They also have four grandchildren.
The open house is being hosted by the children and the grandchildren of the two couples. The couples request no gifts, but cards and memories are welcome.
