CHARLES GIFT, of Fairfield, is the new County Treasurer. He is a native of Allegheny County, Md., and is 53 years old; has been a resident of Jefferson County since 1852. He was a member of Co. A, 15th Iowa Infantry, and served three years in the army. Prior to 1884 he lived on a farm, although he has taught sixteen terms of school in various portions of the county. Since that year MR. GIFT has resided in Fairfield, where he has been engaged in the harness business
