Page 2MILLERs celebrating 60th wedding anniversary
Dale and Merna MILLER of rural Fairfield will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Wednesday.
Dale W. MILLER and Merna R. LEE were married Feb. 24, 1956, in Mt. Pleasant.
Both are graduates of Mt. Pleasant High School. They started farming in the New London/Danville area for four years, then moved to the Oakville area for two years. They moved to the Fairfield area in 1962, and purchased a farm west of Pleasant Plain in 1965. Then, in 1976, they purchased the farm at 2376 Redwood Ave., where they are still residing and farming today.
In addition to farming, Mr. MILLER also sold real estate. He worked out of Davis & Palmer's real estate office, and later with Lefty Pasch. He also was a hail insurance salesman for Farmer's Mutual for many years.
Mr. MILLER has been joined in farming by son Merlin, and more recently by grandson Eric.
The MILLERs have four children: Merlin MILLER and wife Kim of Fairfield; Mark MILLER of Fairfield; DeRene BROMELL and husband Tom of Fairfield; and Jolaine COMFORT and husband David of Conway, Missouri. They also have eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The MILLERs are celebrating their anniversary with a family dinner.
