Wes and Nonie SHAFER of Fairfield will be celebrating 65 years of marriage Thursday.
The SHAFERs were wed June 8, 1950, at St. John's Methodist Church in Davenport, with family and friends attending. The bridesmaid was the bride's sister Betty. The best man was the groom's brother Jake.
The couple have lived their entire married life on the family's century farm. They have two daughters, Sarah HALSEY of West Des Moines and Melissa SHAFER of Fairfield. Sarah and her husband Tony were married on June 18, 1994, and will be celebrating 21 years together Thursday.
