TOMBSTONE UNCOVERED AT HUTTON FARM.

Presented much the same appearance as it must have shortly after it was first erected. Found on the Fay HUTTON farm 1½ miles north of Libertyville on County Road 303. The HUTTONs were plowing their garden, when they came upon a rock... The plot had been in use as a garden for a number of years.

Inscription:

PURYEAR
Children of T.W. & J.
Samuel H., died June 20 1849
Jonny, Dec. 14 1846
Adaniram, Feb. 14 1855

The stone measures about 3 ft. tall and about 15" wide. It is white marble and as easy to read as if it were new. Long time residents of Libertyville recall that the PURYEAR family lived on the farm now occupied by the HUTTONs....
