Page 2PHILIPSes celebrating 50th wedding anniversary
Marvin and Margaret PHILIPS of Douds will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their children from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, with a light lunch served, at the Douds Community Center in Douds.
Marvin PHILIPS and Margaret MULLIKIN were married Dec. 18, 1962, by Basil Tadlock at the United Methodist Church in Douds.
Mr. PHILIPS has been a self-employed farmer all their married life and a Van Buren County supervisor for more than nine years.
Mrs. PHILIPS has been a homemaker and partner with the farming.
The couple has four daughters: Brenda CHAPMAN and husband Todd of Olathe, Kan.; Tammy MERRILL and husband Mark of Fairfield; Marcia PATRICK and husband Mike of Humble, Texas; and Kara PHILIPS of Shawnee, Kan. They also have five grandchildren.
No gifts are requested.
