Page 1, Column 3George H. FRASHER traded a sewing machine for a printing press in 1876 and started publishing the Salina "Banner". It was four columns wide and about 12 inches long and had a circulation of about 200. It contained all local stories and so was very interesting to people of the community.... He almost had a monopoly of the town's industries for he was postmaster, editor and notary public....
