Page 2, Column 2SHARPS CORNER. On Friday evening the pupils and their parents of the Sharp's Corner school, where Bernard SEITZINGER teaches, gathered at the Rev. J. L. SEITZINGER's home and carried out a complete surprise on Bernard.... The evening was spent in visiting, playing the piano and singing. Mrs. SEITZINGER and Bernard played two numbers together on the piano and trombone. A weiner and marshmallow roast, served with buns, pickles, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, and coffee, was enjoyed. Mrs. Lester Kientz brought a beautiful angel food birthday cake with the correct number of candles, and while Bernard was lighting the candles the pupils of his school sang "A Happy Birthday" for him.
Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Shafer and daughter Thelma, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kientz and children Margaret, Junior, Robert and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Amrine and sons Harold and Donald, Mrs. A. W. Amrine, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Zihlman and daughters Edith and Leola, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Lantz and son Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Eshelman and children Lois and Alva, Bernard SEITZINGER and his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. SEITZINGER. The crowd presented Mr. SEITZINGER with a purse of coins as a remembrance.
