OLD TIME FRIENDS IN REUNION SPEED THE PARTING GUEST.

In honor of Solon ELLMAKER and Hattie PUMPHREY ELLMAKER, his wife, who are here on a visit from Lakeland, Florida, and are returning this week, the PUMPHREYs and relatives met in reunion at the home of H. F. PUMPHREY on East Burlington Street. By eleven o'clock over 30 relatives of the PUMPHREYs were present. With the Old Settlers quartet came songs, jokes and yarns which delighted the throng, and all too soon the day was gone.

The first song, "The Good Old Times," a reminiscence written by H. F. PUMPHREY, was applauded long and strong. After a hearty encore the next number rendered by the quartet was "Bessings of Female Suffrage," written by Dr. T. L. JAMES, was encored midst roars of laughter. The last verse is as follows:

"Then goodbye Uncle Sam, Uncle Sam, Uncle Sam,
You'll give your place to Mary Ann
And be at her command."

The third song, "Mid the Fairfields of Our Iowa," written by H. F. PUMPHREY, was loudly encored. The last song, "Farewell," written by Hiram HEATON, was the best received song. Jim ACTON carried the laurels for the best story; R. W. LAMSON for the best yarn; Dr. T. L. JAMES for the most laughable song, and Hiram HEATON for the most heart stirring farewell song.

Wish you could have seen the honest to goodness Iowa smile on the faces when they got a good look at the table decorated by the eats, prepared by the best cooks in good old Iowa. There was a feast of season and a flow of song, with hope strong and spirits high. We were sorry to say goodbye.

At the close of the yarns and songs, Mr. ACTON moved a vote of thanks to the Old Settlers Quartet. This was seconded by H. F. PUMPHREY, and was unanimous with three cheers for the Old Settlers Quartet. Also three rousing cheers were given to the ladies who furnished the finest feast of the season. Those present were:
