UNDERWOODs to celebrte 50th wedding anniversary

Gale and Jan UNDERWOOD of Danville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary June 11.

Gale UNDERWOOD and Jan SMITH were married June 11, 1961, at First Methodist Church in Burlington.

Mr. UNDERWOOD retired from Southeastern Community College in West Burlington. Mrs. UNDERWOOD is a retired employee of Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa.

The couple's children are Bryan of Burlington and Dawn of Blue Earth, Minn. They have three grandsons.

An open house celebration, hosted by their children and Mrs. UNDERWOOD's sister, Jeanna MEYERS of Fairfield, will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 11 at the couple's country home at 2610-312th St., Danville.

The celebration will include a day-long buffet and several outdoor activities.
