"Original Land Entries" show: May 31, 1839, Alexander Pattison, 240 Acres in the North Half of Section 20, Cedar Township. On the same date, May 31, 1839, Alexander Pattison, "W. 1/2 of NW 1/4, Sec. 21, Cedar Township." The "Land Patents" show that "Alexander Pattison of Jefferson County, Iowa Territory," patented 320 Acres on 1 December 1841.
