HAMMESes celebrating 70th wedding anniversary

Norbert and Marie HAMMES of Fairfield will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary Saturday.

Norbert HAMMES and Marie GREINER were married Nov. 28, 1940, at St. Mary's Church in Keota with Father C. S. Kempker officiating.

The HAMMESes are the parents of seven children: Jim HAMMES, John HAMMES and Barb HAMMES of Fairfield; Rose BOLLEI of Tiffin; Carol VORHIES of Monticello; Mary WEBB of Batavia; and Stephen HAMMES, deceased. They have 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to an open house from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church's Decoursey Hall.
