CLINGANs to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Franklin and Sarah (BONNETT) CLINGAN of Fairfield will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-5 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.

The celebration will be given by their children. All friends and family are invited.

The CLINGANs were married Dec. 11, 1960, in Stockport Christian Church with the Rev. Chester Werft officiating. Dale Clingan was best man, and Carolyn Church was maid of honor. The couple met through mutual friends; Mr. CLINGAN had finished his service in the Air Force, and Mrs. CLINGAN was planning to attend beauty school in Ottumwa.

The CLINGANs have five children: Deanna and husband Clint FISCHER of Ankeny; Kevin and wife Darcie CLINGAN of Fairfield; Pam and husband Ron HOAG of Omaha, Neb.; Paula and husband Larry ANGSTEAD of Fairfield; and Scott CLINGAN of Ankeny. They also have 15 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. CLINGAN farms, and Mrs. CLINGAN is a broker/realtor with Farm & Home GMAC.

The couple will also celebrate their anniversary with a winter trip to Aruba.
