REUNIONS

Fairfield High School Class of 1945

The FHS class of 1945 met Sept. 10 at the home of Doug and Carole MORRISON for their 65th class reunion.

The MORRISONs invited all classmates and their guests to their home on Friday evening for refreshments, time to reminisce and picture opportunities.

The class of 1945 then enjoyed a dinner Saturday evening at Best Western Inn. A letter from Targe LINDSAY, a classmate from California, was read that concerned class president Dick KURTZ, who died in December of 2009. Everyone had stories about KURTZ and his life.

Harriett ANGSTEAD GUSTASON read stories of classmates' lives from 1927 until today, with everyone sharing their own stories of school, teachers, and more. Milo HAMILTON, the radio voice of the Houston Astros, told stories of his life with sports. He brought some memorabilia to share with everyone. Also, many letters from classmates who were unable to attend were read.

Doug MORRISON had pins made for everyone depicting their lives from 1945 to 2010.

Classmates in attendance were class vice president Carole MORRISON and class treasurer Doug MORRISON; Ruth CHEZUM and Merle SCHNEIDER; Nellie ZILLMAN ANDERSON; Clarence and Lois ANDERSON; Harold MUNSON; Willard MACY and friend; Judy ANDERSON; Dick and Marge REDDICK; Josephine COOP CHAMBERS and daughter Cindy Bowermaster; Marilyn JOHNSON DOHRMAN, Wanda TWEEDY and Gene COCHERELL; Maxine PHILLIPS HESTON; class secretary Harriett ANGSTEAD GUSTASON; Norma Lee GALLUP BOSLOUGH; John GLOTFELTY, son Robert and daughter Jean Randall; Bill CUMMINGS; Milo HAMILTON; Jack WRIGHT; Don ANGSTEAD; Maine AVERY; and Mirian VORHIES.
