Stockport woman dies after accident
STOCKPORT -- An 89-year-old Stockport woman died Tuesday evening after being involved in a two-vehicle accident that morning in Van Buren County.
Frances E. DODDS was transported to Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, then later airlifted by helicopter to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where she died.
According to the Iowa State Patrol's minimal crash report, 36-year-old William Oliver DURFLINGER of Agency was driving a 1999 Peterbilt semi-trailer westbound on Highway 16, when the 1986 Oldsmobile Regency 98 driven by DODDS pulled onto the highway from Spruce Avenue. The vehicles collided, causing severe damage to DODDS' vehicle.
The car was towed away from the site by Osborne Oil Company-BP of Keosauqua. The semi, owned by Bill Durflinger Trucking LLC of Agency, was driven away.
According to the report, the accident is under investigation.
Pedrick Funeral Home of Keosauqua is in charge of the funeral arrangements for DODDS.
