JOHNSONs to celebrate 70th wedding anniversary

Howard and Isabelle JOHNSON of Fairfield will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary May 5. For the special occasion, they are inviting friends and relatives to join them from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Fairfield Golf & Country Club for an open house celebration.

The JOHNSONs were married May 5, 1940, in Barhydt Chapel of Parsons College with the bride's father, the Rev. Samuel WILEY, officiating.

Mr. JOHNSON retired from Johnson's Hardware in 1981. Mrs. JOHNSON retired from Washington Elementary in Fairfield in 1981. She taught for 27 years.

The couple has two children: daughter Jean of Florida and son Howard Jr. of Altoona. They also have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The JOHNSONs requests no gifts (sic) except the presence of friends and relatives at the open house.
