FARRIERs celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

Junior and Janet FARRIER will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary April 1. They were married in Fairfield on April 1, 1950, by the Rev. S.P. Williamson.

The anniversary was celebrated with a barbeque at the home of the couple's daughter, Sue TIERNEY, and her husband Rick, in West Des Moines. Family who attended to honor them included their son, John FARRIER, and his wife Ninette and son Bobby, from Cedar Rapids. Grandson Jason JONES attended from West Des Moines, as did their granddaughter, Carissa HARRY, from Iowa City. Other children include Julie FARRIER of Adel and the late Robert M. FARRIER.

The FARRIERs currently have a home at Southgate in Fairfield, but will be moving to Oaks Assisted Living in the next few weeks.

Junior FARRIER is a World War II veteran who participated in an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. last fall. Janet taught second grade in the Fairfield School District. She retired in 1993.
