George and Dora VORHIES of Fairfield will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Sunday.
They were married by the Rev. Sam Williamson at the First Christian Church. Mr. VORHIES was a naval chief petty officer, stationed at Olathe, Kan. Mrs. VORHIES was a reporter for The Fairfield Daily Ledger. They lived in Overland Park, Kan., until World War II ended. Mr. VORHIES is a Pearl Harbor survivor.
The couple has two children: Leslie Ann GENTRY and Lane A. VORHIES, both of Fairfield. they have five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
