VICEs celebrate 50 years

LeRoy "Pete" and Donna VICE of Agency will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 1.

Pete VICE and Donna Ruth COPELAND were married Nov. 1, 1959, at Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield with the Rev. D.O. Van Dyne officiating.

Mr. VICE owned and operated Vice Excavation for years, retired from Falco and The Ottumwa Courier several years ago. Mrs. VICE spent the early years of their marriage at home with their children, later working as a waitress and cleaning houses. In 2001, she earned her diploma as a doctor of naturopathy from the College of Natural Health in Linstrom, Minn., and currently works encouraging clients in a healthier lifestyle through diet and supplementation.

They have five children: Darwin and wife Lori of Libertyville, Lyle of Ottumwa, Joy BOX and husband Bart of Ottumwa, Lori LOBBERECHT and husband Mike of Oskaloosa and Jonathan and wife Teresa of Batavia. They have 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The VICEs will be celebrating the occasion with an open house given by their children from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 1 at Calvary Baptist Church, 915 Overman St., Ottumwa 52501. Family and friends are invited to attend the event.
