BATESes will celebrate 60th anniversary with party

Paul and Pat BATES of Fairfield will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a party Oct. 24 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activities Building.

Food will be served from 4-6 p.m., and a dance with Larry Goodman will be from 6-9 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend.

Patricia COURTNEY and Paul BATES were married Nov. 27, 1949, at the First Christian Church in Fairfield. The couple lived on a farm north of Fairfield for 25 years before moving to Fairfield. Mr. BATES farmed for 25 years and was a feed salesman for 30 years. Mrs. BATES did domestic work as well as baking and decorating cakes.

They have two children, Brenda BISGARD of Fairfield and Paula ADAM of Richland. They have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The couple requests no gifts at the party, but cards would be appreciated.
